SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (AP)—Marty Mohamed sacked Thomas O’Brien late in the fourth quarter and Carlton Gillespie recovered the South Dakota State quarterback’s fumble in the end zone for the winning touchdown in Cal Poly’s 21-14 victory Saturday.

The defensive score, which came with 2:09 remaining, was the second of the night for the Mustangs (2-2), who tied the game at 14-14 when Asa Jackson returned an interception 47 yards with 2:54 left in the second quarter.

Kyle Minett scored both touchdowns for the Jackrabbits (3-1) on runs of 1 and 9 yards to give his team leads of 7-0 and 14-7, respectively.

David Mahr ran for Cal Poly’s other TD from 2 yards out early in the second.

O’Brien replaced Ryan Crawford in the second quarter when the starter suffered a leg injury. O’Brien passed for 98 yards but also threw two interceptions.

ugh, seeing how we lost and how close it was, i have no doubt that the jacks win this with crawford. not that OB is bad, he just wasnt prepared with the reps as well as it being his first game being in when in mattered. Just make me sick. oh well time for next week.
